Plant-based Ground

Directions

Step 1
To make the Sloppy Joe sandwich filling: In a large pot on medium-low heat, add canola oil and sauté garlic, onions, celery, and peppers for 1-2 minutes, until just fragrant and very light golden brown.
Step 2
Add OZO Plant-Based Ground to pot, increase heat to medium/medium high, and cook for ~10 minutes, until meat fill is fully cooked and no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. When fully cooked, drain grease from meat.
Step 3
While meat is browning, make the sauce. In a medium bowl, mix tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and black pepper until well combined.
Step 4
Pour sauce over browned meat, stir, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chopped dill pickles.

Build each sandwich in the following order:
1. 1 Hawaiian bun bottom
